The European Parliament wants to cap bank interest rates for consumer loans

*Member States will also be able to cap the commissions charged by banks from borrowers in case of non-payment of the loan *Foreclosure will not be able to be initiated by the bank until after offering the borrower some forbearance measures *Financial institutions will have to have clear procedures to assess the creditworthiness of consumers and provide them with an appropriate loan repayment program
